Looking for a small loan to help us keep our house

My boyfriend and I live together with our eight cats.  I am a court reporter.  After an equipment breakdown, I borrowed some money and bought new equipment and software.  After I learn how to use it, and after I become a notary public which is required for court reporters in CA, I will be going back to work.  I estimate it will be eight weeks.  My boyfriend is a concrete finisher and has supported me financially through this time of getting prepared to go back to work.  Although he has only worked sporadically, we have managed to pay the bills and keep a roof over our head.  We have been looking forward to the day when we wouldn't have to worry about bills any more, and it seemed like that day was just around the corner.  Then a month ago my boyfriend was on his motorcycle when he was hit by a car.  He has severe injuries and is not able to work.  He probably won't be able to work for at least a year and maybe never again as a concrete finisher.  He broke his femur and both hands.  Suddenly for the first time in our lives we feel helpless.  We have no medical insurance, so the medical bills are mounting.  The rent is due tomorrow and we have no income.  We don't want to lose our home.  I work here and there, but really just get enough for grocery money.  Once I am back at court reporting, we will be making good money and should be able to pay all the bills without a problem.  Until then, we are afraid we will lose everything.  We are selling our furniture, but no one wants to pay much for anything these days.  They just want a great deal...or FREE.  If someone would loan us $1550 so we could pay rent this month we would be eternally greatful.  I'm not comfortable with taking money or anything else from others and am usually the one who gives.  Asking for anything is difficult for me.  I would insist on paying back anything borrowed, but I probably would not be able to do so for about six months.  I'm trying to be realistic.  I hate having to ask for something this huge, but we would be so greatful if someone could help us just temporarily so we don't lose our house.  We'll have to work out the other bills another way, but if we could just keep the roof we might be able to get through this okay.  Thank you for reading this.
